Sant Jnaneshwar, also spelled Jnanadeva, was a 13th-century Indian saint, poet, and philosopher. He is best known for his work called “Jnaneshwari,” a commentary on the Bhagavad Gita written in Marathi. Jnaneshwar’s teachings emphasized the path of devotion (bhakti) and the realization of the self (jñana) as means to attain spiritual enlightenment.
